As a Certified Divorce Lending Professional, my practice is Divorce Mortgage Planning. This is not a loan product or a mortgage application. It is the analysis that sits underneath the property and debt decisions in a divorce: what the equity solutions actually are for each party, whether the proposed settlement will support financing once the decree is entered, how support, timing, and title language affect qualification, and where the settlement, the mortgage, and the real property contradict one another. I bring that analysis to the divorce team while the terms are still open, because after the agreement is signed, the language is what everyone has to live with, and financing has to conform to it rather than the other way around.
Meet Julie Howell, a seasoned veteran in the mortgage industry with over 20 years of experience. As a top Senior Loan Officer at PrimeLending, A PlainsCapital Co., she has consistently earned the title of PrimeLending Power Producer. Her dedication and expertise have earned her numerous prestigious awards, such as being ranked in the Top 1% of Mortgage Originators in America by Mortgage Executive Magazine. Additionally, she has been recognized as D Magazine's Best Mortgage Professional and Five Star Mortgage Professional.
With extensive experience in assisting divorcing home buyers and homeowners, Julie is well-equipped to handle the complexities of mortgage financing during the settlement process. Her training as a Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP), completed in 2018 after Basic Collaborative Training in 2008, allows her to proactively identify potential obstacles for divorcing clients and find suitable mortgage financing solutions. Julie frequently lends her expertise to attorneys and Collaborative neutral financial professionals during mediation and Collaborative meetings, offering on-the-spot answers to mortgage-related queries and providing support to both clients and professionals. She plays an instrumental role in exploring home equity options and ensuring harmony between divorce settlements, mortgages, and real property.
Julie enjoys time outdoors with her husband and two children. She indulges in live music and is learning to play guitar.
